Tiger Crane Kung Fu is a well-established martial arts club in London, and it also happens to be the Kung Fu club I have been training with for the past ten years.
They wanted to develop a new website that could better represent the club and would be easier to navigate and update. Having collaborated with me in the past, they were keen for me to take on the project, which, of course, I was honoured to do.
Working closely with founder and Head Instructor Dave Courtney Jones, we took this opportunity to review the website’s sitemap and information architecture, to present the club’s structure and locations in a way that would be easy for people to understand.
With the design, the goal was to convey what is special and unique about our club, creating something original that would spark interest and set us apart from other martial arts clubs. The result is a slick, clean, and professional design that feels uniquely Tiger Crane Kung Fu.
Built on a multi-purpose WordPress theme that I customised, the website is fully responsive and easy to update via a very intuitive page builder. New features include a custom online membership form, integration with PayPal for membership payments, and integration with Google Calendar.
Having a personal connection to a project is undoubtedly an advantage, but it can also add extra pressure. Thankfully, everyone was delighted with the outcome, and I truly enjoyed working on this one.
It was very important to me, when deciding who to use for my website redesign, that they would make a seamless transition to the new site without any loss of internet presence, and to align the site design more cleanly with the values of my brand. Oriana was able to do this, taking time to understand exactly what was important to me, and I have been delighted with the results.
The new website is crisp, clean, very professional-looking, and a dramatic improvement on our previous site, all done whilst keeping our excellent SEO rankings (which Oriana had worked on previously).
One of the most noticeable improvements is that the quality of the enquiries coming through to me has improved, resulting in more students joining the club. Amazing work!
